What Is Reiki

To Pronounce Reiki:  Ray-Key.

This is a noun, meaning the main subject or a thing.

Reiki is a technique that is based on the principle that the therapist that is doing the treatment can channel energy into the patient’s body by means of touch.  This is to activate the natural healing process of the patient’s body and to restore the physical and emotional well-being.

Reiki is also a Japanese technique that can help people that have stress.  This helps reduce the stress and help the patient relax and then this helps promote healing in the painful area but also it helps the mind and emotions heal too.

Healing Reiki HandsReiki is based on the idea that an unseen, “Life Force Energy,” flows through the body and it is what causes us to be alive…so, Reiki is actually a, “Spiritually guided Life Force energy.”

The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word, (Rei), which means, “Universal Life,” and (Ki), which means, “Energy.”

Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.  Reiki is a form of alternative medicine that was developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist, “Mikao Usui.”

Reiki is a therapy often described as, “Palm-Healing’ or “Hands-on-body” healing in which a practitioner will place his/her hands on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing.

Reiki will not harm anything. It is not a harmful energy to a person, plant, animal or a thing that is a living organism.  It is a gentle, loving, compassionate energy that comes from the source of energy being generated from the Universe and comes down through the body, through the heart center and out the hands to the person, animal, plant or thing that is alive to be healed.

Reiki has been integrated into many health care settings, including hospitals, and holistic healing practices.  It plays a role in reducing anxiety, and pain, including relaxation and improving the symptoms of fatigue and depression.

To sum it all up about the question of Reiki, it is a healing force and energy that can help most people that have a need of healing and feel that this would be their answer to a safe healing modality that is simple and relaxing.
